Change the Emotion. Change the Behavior.
Step 1
We’ll start with a free intake call to assess your needs and how I can help you.
Step 2
Soon after, we’ll have a more in-depth consultation call where we will begin to piece together immediate next steps.
Step 3
I’ll create your custom plan, designed to meet you and your dog where you are — it won’t work if it doesn’t work for you.
Step 4
From there, we’ll start in-person lessons to work together on topics specific to your plan. You’ll receive next steps and skills to work on without me.
Step 5
Follow up practice sessions are available as needed for supervised training and guided troubleshooting.

About Me
I’m JoAnna Rogowski, MS, KPA CTP, a Westfield, Indiana-based Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner with a master’s degree in Comparative Pathobiology (Animal Behavior and Welfare Concentration) and bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Purdue University.
My passion for animal behavior began while working at a vet clinic in high school, which inspired me to make a career out of it. Between college and grad school, I took a five-year detour to teach high school science in South Texas through Teach For America.
My graduate research focused on the effect of caretaker interactions on dog welfare in commercial breeding kennels. During that time, I completed my Karen Pryor Academy certification and started seeing private training clients, specializing in fear and reactivity. In early 2024, I started working at Veterinary Behavior of Indiana where I’m thrilled to continue learning about all things behavior!
My husband Phil and I share our home with two dogs: Foxy (Chihuahua mix) and Maple (Red Heeler mix), and a cat, Booger. In our spare time, we enjoy going on hikes with the dogs, playing soccer, and trying out new restaurants.
My Journey with Maple
Maple, who we rescued as a puppy just before the COVID-19 lockdown, struggles with a number of challenges: fear, reactivity, and anxiety. Working with her has been a valuable case study in humane training and patience. She’s made amazing progress, but dog training is a lifetime thing and we’re in it for the long haul. If you’re struggling with your dog, I understand intimately what you’re going through — and I promise it gets better.
The dog you want is in your hands.
